“A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. The health vertical of PPES was envisioned and created with that in mind. The education and empowerment of young girls that we aim towards cannot be attained without the girl being both physically and mentally healthy. ‘Prana’ has been one of our greatest assets on the road to creating healthy, well-rounded girls and women in rural India.”
Mr. Virendra(Sam) Singh sowed seeds of change when he returned to his ancestral village, and founded Pardada Pardadi Educational Society in 2000. PPES is focused on rural development, through education, employment and empowerment of rural girls and women.

I was introduced to the remote, impoverished village of Anupshahr, India by a patient in my Internal Medicine practice in the U.S. My patient, an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer, who was building the village’s only toilets implored me to accompany him on a visit to this place in poverty-stricken northern India.
